Michael Blackson Announces Legal Action Against Ghana Finance Ministry Over Eurobond Loss

Comedian and actor Michael Blackson has publicly announced his intention to initiate legal action against Ghana’s Ministry of Finance for what he alleges is the mishandling of his Eurobond investment.
Blackson, who is of Ghanaian descent, had invested in the Eurobonds hoping to use the significant earnings to sustainably fund his philanthropic project, the Michael Blackson Academy in Agona Nsaba, which offers free education and uniforms to underprivileged children.
Frustrated by the situation, Blackson took to social media on October 14, 2024, to express his anger and reveal his plans for legal proceedings. He stated that the investment was locked up, forcing him to seek alternative funding sources for the school.
Blackson claimed that the Ghanaian government utilized the funds, which were originally intended for his project’s operational costs, to settle national debt, possibly to China, leaving investors like him in a difficult position. He expressed deep disappointment, lamenting that the government’s actions had taken away the potential earnings he was counting on to support the free school.
I’m seeking legal actions against the finance ministry of Ghana 🇬🇭. I have a free school I’m financing on my own and they took away the potential earnings I was going to use to fund the school. Now I have to figure something else out for those poor kids.
