Nigerian Afro-fusion star Omah Lay has opened up about a significant health challenge, revealing that his eyesight has deteriorated to the point of requiring corrective lenses.
In a candid video clip shared on social media in November 2025, the “Soso” hitmaker expressed his disbelief at the situation, stating, “I never thought there would come a time when I’d begin to wear glasses… my eye is finished.” He described waking up with sore eyes and needing glasses for daily activities like reading and watching television.
The singer, who has been remarkably transparent about his struggles with mental health and depression, linked the damage directly to his past heavy use of cannabis and smoking.
Although he successfully quit the habit earlier this year – reporting that he feels much “healthier and more alive” since doing so – he noted that he is now dealing with the long-term physical consequences of his previous lifestyle.
