Teacher and Accomplice Arrested in Techiman with 294 Slabs of Suspected Marijuana

The Techiman Divisional Police Command in the Bono East Region has arrested two men—Samuel Peprah (27), a teacher at Ejura Roman Catholic School, and Kofi Agyemang (47)—for the possession of 294 slabs of wrapped weeds believed to be marijuana.
The arrests followed an early Monday morning tip-off about a plan to transport cannabis to Techiman for distribution. The Chief Superintendent of the Regional Police Command, Ohene Boadi Bossman, explained that police set up an ambush on the highway. At around 2:00 am, they intercepted a Hyundai vehicle (GC 292-11) and discovered the cannabis during a search.
While the two suspects were apprehended, the driver of the vehicle managed to escape and is currently being sought by the police, who may publish his photo if he is not found soon. The arrested men are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday. Chief Superintendent Bossman emphasized the police’s determination to tackle crime in Techiman, stressing its importance as a new regional capital.
