Techiman South NDC Secretary Attacked During Party Meeting Over Alleged Internal Tensions

The Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Techiman South was assaulted during a constituency executives’ meeting held in Tanoso, Techiman, on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. The official was attacked by a group of men in the presence of other party leaders.
While the exact motive is unknown, reports suggest the assault stems from internal tensions within the Techiman South NDC, potentially linked to events during the 2020 general elections. The victim was immediately taken to Ahhmadya Muslim Hospital for treatment, and the incident has been reported to the Techiman Divisional Police for investigation.
Hajj Tanko, the Constituency Communications Officer who witnessed the attack, described it as “deliberate and planned,” and accused the Techiman South NDC Chairman, Nuhu Saliu Faawa, of orchestrating the assault.
However, Chairman Faawa denied the allegations, explaining that the incident arose from a heated disagreement during the meeting concerning the party’s performance in the 2020 elections.
