University of Ghana’s Akosua Arhin Crowned Miss Malaika Ghana 2025

The National Theatre in Accra was filled with excitement on Saturday, November 22, 2024, as 20-year-old Akosua Arhin emerged as the winner of Miss Malaika Ghana 2025.

A student at the University of Ghana, Akosua outperformed nine other finalists to secure the prestigious crown, a 2025 KIA Pegas saloon car, a cash prize exceeding GHS 20,000, and a full postgraduate scholarship.

The 23rd edition of the pageant, themed “Defining the Future,” was noted for its focus on intellectual depth and social advocacy, with contestants presenting rigorous solutions to national development issues.

Akosua’s victory was cemented during the intellectual round, where she addressed Ghana’s pressing youth unemployment crisis with both data and a concrete plan of action.

Highlighting that urban youth unemployment often surpasses 25%, she introduced her “4E Initiative” (Empowering Youth Through Enterprise and Education), which aims to establish digital and vocational training hubs for 500 young women in the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions.

Her blend of poise, traditional storytelling during the cultural segment, and a clear, actionable vision for her reign earned her the title of brand ambassador and the opportunity to lead significant social interventions over the coming year.
