Three Arrested and Drug Ghetto Destroyed in Techiman Crackdown

On Thursday, December 18, 2025, a coordinated security operation in the Bono East Region successfully disrupted suspected drug trafficking activities within the Twimea and Aworano communities.
During a targeted swoop in Twimea, law enforcement officers apprehended 28-year-old Godfred Yeboah along with 30-year-olds Mahama Majeed and Emmanuel Osei. At the scene of their arrest, police recovered a wrapper containing a dried substance believed to be Indian hemp.
The operation subsequently moved to the nearby town of Aworano, targeting a location identified as a “ghetto.” Although the suspects at this second site managed to escape after being alerted to the approaching police team, authorities took decisive action to dismantle the facility.
The structure was completely destroyed to prevent its continued use for illegal activities, and officers gathered additional samples of suspected cannabis left behind as evidence.
All three arrested individuals remain in police custody while investigations continue as part of a larger regional initiative to enhance public safety by combating narcotics during the festive season.
