Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey has completed a permanent transfer to Italian club Fiorentina for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old right-back leaves the Seagulls after making 122 appearances, during which he scored five goals and registered 16 assists. Lamptey originally joined Brighton from Chelsea in January 2020.
Brighton Head Coach Fabian Hurzeler expressed his well wishes for the Ghanaian international, stating: “He’s been a valued player throughout his time, but more than that he is a brilliant professional and person.”
Hurzeler added that the move represents a “good opportunity for him to play both Serie A and European football,” and wished him all the best for the future on behalf of the club.
