Marlin Beach Resort Owner Albin Akansake Named 2025 Indigenous Tourism Developer

Mr. Albin Akansake, the founder of Marlin Beach Resort, was honored as the “Indigenous Tourism Investment Developer of the Year” at the 2025 National Tourism Awards held on November 14 at the Grand Arena in Accra.

The ceremony, themed “Celebrating Ghanaian Ingenuity and Excellence in Tourism,” recognized Akansake for his pioneering role in establishing Ghana’s first-ever all-inclusive resort.

Located along the Gomoa Fetteh–Nyanyano coastline in the Central Region, the resort has been lauded for its integrated hospitality model, which combines accommodation, world-class dining, and diverse recreational activities into a single luxury package.

Upon receiving the award from the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Akansake expressed deep gratitude, noting that the recognition serves as a testament to the hard work required to elevate Ghana’s tourism standards. He highlighted his commitment to further upgrading the resort’s infrastructure to position it as a premier global destination.

The night also saw other notable winners, including Prof. Kobby Mensah for Tourism Technology and Innovation and the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park for Excellence in Tourism Site Development, as the industry gathered to celebrate the “Black Star Experience” and the entrepreneurs driving the country’s hospitality growth.
