Thierry Henry Suspended by Monaco Amid Relegation Struggle

Thierry Henry has been suspended as manager by AS Monaco just three months after his appointment, following a disastrous run of form that has left the club 19th in Ligue 1.
The club, which has won only two league games during Henry’s 104-day, 20-match tenure, stated that a final decision is pending, and Franck Passi, who was brought in last month as Henry’s assistant, will oversee Friday’s training session.
Henry replaced Leonardo Jardim on October 13, but the relegation battle failed to improve. The former Arsenal star recently suggested an attitude problem within the squad, saying the team needed “guys who want to save the club, who don’t think about themselves.”
Despite brief signs of improvement after Christmas – including the signing of former teammate Cesc Fàbregas – Monaco suffered a 5-1 home defeat to Strasbourg last Saturday and were knocked out of the French Cup by Ligue 2 side Metz on Tuesday, losses which seem to have triggered the club’s decision.
Reports suggest that Henry’s predecessor, Leonardo Jardim, could make an unlikely return should Henry’s exit be finalized.
