Dancehall artist Shatta Wale has been accused of assaulting the supervisor of a road construction site in Adjiringanor, Accra, after his demand to have the public road extended to his office (SM Secretariat) was denied.
The incident (which occurred around May 31, 2021) was widely circulated in viral social media videos, showing an enraged Shatta Wale arriving with a group, allegedly from Nima, and shouting at the workers.
Acquah further claimed that the police arrived but took no action regarding the assault, instead exchanging pleasantries with Shatta Wale and advising the engineer to “be careful.”
The incident fuelled rumors that Shatta Wale was enraged because he believed he had funded the project before traveling, expecting it to be completed upon his return.
