Sarkodie Reveals Anxiety Over Rain During Rapperholic Concert in Kumasi

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has shared that he experienced significant anxiety and fear when heavy rain threatened to disrupt his Rapperholic concert in Kumasi.

In an interview with YFM Kumasi, shared on X on September 30, 2025, Sarkodie recounted the downpour that began just minutes into the show.1 Despite the massive financial investment in the event, he emphasized that his primary concern was the safety and well-being of his attendees.

“I won’t lie, I was nervous, really scared, especially for the fans. I kept thinking about the people who paid to see me,” he recalled.

Sarkodie explained that although it had rained all day, he had remained hopeful it would clear up. When the downpour intensified, he resorted to prayer.

He added, “The rain was so heavy, you could hear it on the roof… All the hard work, the promotion, the fans had paid money to be there. I wasn’t worried about the stage or the show – I just wanted to make sure the people were okay. It caused some chaos, and I was honestly very nervous.”
