The Techiman South Constituency has become the center of significant political unrest following the 2024 general elections, marked by clashes between discontented National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters and security forces.
The controversy stems from the NDC’s rejection of the parliamentary election results, with supporters widely accusing authorities of irregularities and electoral malpractice, claiming the final declaration does not accurately reflect the will of the voters.
Widespread protests and heated confrontations have been fueled by these suspicions. Further anger among the opposition has been intensified by social media footage allegedly showing damaged ballot papers. NDC supporters are strongly demanding that the election results be either annulled or comprehensively reviewed by the authorities.
