Emelia Brobbey Bounces Back with “Odo Electric” Featuring Wendy Shay

Kumawood actress-turned-singer Emelia Brobbey successfully released her anticipated collaborative track, “Odo Electric,” featuring top Ghanaian female artist Wendy Shay, as a definitive response to the widespread online trolling of her debut single, “Fa Me Ko.”

The song, which was produced by hitmaker MOG Beatz, was released on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, with an accompanying official music video directed by McWillies.

The collaboration was a significant statement, as Emelia Brobbey enlisted the support of Wendy Shay, who has also been a frequent target of public criticism and cyberbullying. Wendy Shay’s manager, Bullet (CEO of RuffTown Records), was also present in the studio to provide encouragement during the recording session.

“Odo Electric” is a love song that discusses a lady who had given up on love following a painful heartbreak, only to be unexpectedly swept off her feet by a new man.

Unlike her debut, “Odo Electric” met with more favorable feedback. Music critics noted that Emelia Brobbey had toned down her vocal pitch and opted for a more pop-centric course with modern production, making the song more palatable to a wider audience.
