YOLO Star Drogba Travels Abroad for Medical Treatment After Public Fundraiser

Ghanaian actor John Bredu Peasah, widely known as Drogba from the popular YOLO television series, is traveling abroad for specialized medical treatment following an intensive public fundraising campaign.

The actor has been battling a serious neurological condition, demyelinating disease, for the past two years, which can severely impair vision, coordination, and sensation. His health struggles began during the final season of the YOLO series. His sister, Hannah Mensah, confirmed that he had been experiencing symptoms like double vision and weakness.

In an Instagram post on March 8, 2024, Drogba revealed his doctors had advised him to seek care abroad due to challenges with his treatment in Ghana. He expressed heartfelt gratitude for the public support he received:

“It’s been a while since you’ve heard from me due to some challenges with my treatment and the need to seek care abroad as advised by my doctors… I look forward to your continued support to help me receive the necessary care for this neurological condition. God bless you all for your help in saving my life.”

He went on to say, “As I’ve been referred for further treatment abroad, I look forward to your continued support to help me receive the necessary care for this neurological condition. God bless you all for your help in saving my life.”

In March 2024, it was revealed that Peasah is suffering from demyelination, a serious condition that affects the nervous system and can impair vision, coordination, and sensation. His sister, Hannah Mensah, shared that his health issues began during the final season of YOLO.
