Hundreds of fans, family members, and friends gathered at Black Star Square on Saturday, August 30, 2025, to observe the one-week memorial service for legendary Ghanaian highlife artist, Daddy Lumba.
The emotional ceremony was held to honor the life and immense legacy of the iconic “Makra Mo” hitmaker, featuring musical tributes that celebrated his contributions to Ghanaian music.
Prominent figures from the entertainment industry and various other sectors attended the event to pay their respects. Daddy Lumba, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, passed away on July 26, 2025, after a prolific music career that spanned over four decades and produced countless highlife classics. This one-week memorial is noted as the first of many events planned to celebrate his life and work.
