The Ghana Oil Company (GOIL), a major sponsor of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has sent a goodwill message to the club ahead of their crucial CAF Confederation Cup second leg match against Cotonsport Garoua this weekend.
As Ghana’s sole remaining representative in this year’s African club competitions, a win for the Porcupine Warriors will secure their place in the tournament’s coveted group stage.
GOIL’s Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Patrick Akorli, encouraged the team to “bring honour to the country.” He expressed confidence in their ability, urging them: “You have the capacity to excel, so all hopes are on you not just to win, but win convincingly.”
Kotoko holds a significant advantage after registering an impressive 3-2 away scoreline in the first leg in Cameroon. The statement from GOIL called on the team to “eschew complacency, remain focused and go all out” to beat Cotonsport Garoua.
The oil marketing company also appealed to fans of Kumasi Asante Kotoko and all football-loving Ghanaians to attend the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in great numbers to provide the maximum possible support for victory.
