Bukom Banku Aims for International Stardom in London Debut

Ghana’s popular cruiserweight boxer, Braimah Kamoko, widely known as Bukom Banku, has traveled to London for his first professional bout outside Ghana. The bout, scheduled for Saturday, September 7, in Bradford, United Kingdom, pits him against Hungarian opponent Ferenc Albert.
The 40-year-old Ghanaian fighter, a former WBO Africa Light Heavyweight and Cruiserweight champion (with a record of 29 wins, 21 by KO, and 1 loss to Bastie Samir), has confidently predicted a 5th-round stoppage of Albert.
His opponent, a 26-year-old with a professional record of 15 wins (15 KO) and 16 losses (10 by KO), has countered with a boast of a 3rd-round knockout, setting the stage for an attractive contest.
Bukom Banku, who previously won a bronze medal at the 1999 All-Africa Games, is looking to rekindle his boxing career after a period of inactivity that saw him focus on entertainment and political campaigning for former President John Mahama.
