Daddy Lumba’s Family Plans International Funeral Extensions to Address Exclusions

Faustina Fosu, the sister of the late highlife icon Daddy Lumba, has revealed that the family is organizing additional funeral ceremonies outside of Ghana to accommodate those who missed the initial rites.
While the primary burial service took place on December 13, 2025, Madam Faustina explained that several key relatives and numerous supporters were unable to attend due to a combination of unresolved family grievances and high-profile legal battles.
She emphasized that because her brother’s musical influence was global, these international “extensions” are a necessary step to honor his expansive legacy and provide a sense of closure for the diaspora community.
Reflecting on the recent ceremony in Kumasi, Madam Faustina admitted to having mixed emotions, noting that the absence of a significant faction of the family was a source of great personal sorrow.
To rectify these divisions, the family has reportedly returned to the Manhyia Palace to seek further mediation with the abusuapanyin (family head) and other senior leaders.
These ongoing reconciliation efforts are intended to restore unity within the family while the official details of the upcoming international memorials remain private, pending a formal announcement from the head of the family.
