Chieftaincy Disputes Identified as Primary Threat to Peace and Investment in Techiman North

Mr. Peter Mensah, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Techiman North, has identified chieftaincy conflicts as the most critical threat to peace and security in the region, which is a major agricultural hub (“the country’s food basket”).

In an interview with OTECNEWS, Mr. Mensah stressed that these violent and ongoing disputes must be urgently addressed to restore investor confidence and safeguard the region’s economic future. He emphasized that sustained development is impossible without a peaceful environment.

The DCE specifically called on the Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC) and the Regional House of Chiefs to collaborate immediately to find lasting solutions to the conflicts.

Additionally, Mr. Mensah urged residents to uphold a positive image of the region both locally and nationally. He also requested that district security committees hold regular meetings to assess the security situation and ensure that any potential conflicts are promptly reported to the RCC for decisive action.
