Camidoh Still Hopes to Collaborate with UK Rapper Skepta

Ghanaian Afrobeats artist Camidoh has publicly expressed his strong desire to collaborate with renowned UK-based Nigerian rapper Skepta to further penetrate the UK market.

In an interview with Elsie Lamar on Talkertainment (circa May 2021), Camidoh shared his admiration and strategy for making the collaboration happen:

“I have a strong fanbase in the UK, and I want to tap into that. I’m really looking forward to working with Skepta, and I’ve already started making moves in that direction. I worked on a track with Eugy, and I hope that helps open the door for me to connect with Skepta. I’m eager to contribute a sleek hook and a beautiful vibe for him,” he said.

Camidoh clarified that this international pursuit does not diminish his commitment to the local scene, stating, “I’m still very much looking forward to many collaborations with Ghanaian musicians.”

Camidoh’s expressed interest came shortly after Skepta had hinted at stepping away from rapping in March 2021, focusing instead on production and his new label. At the time, Skepta stated on Twitter:

“Any verses of mine you hear this year were all recorded last year…I’ve stopped recording in 2021.”
