Chelsea Winger Mykhailo Mudryk Charged by FA Over Anti-Doping Violation

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been formally charged by the Football Association (FA) with Anti-Doping Rule Violations following a failed drug test, an offense that could result in a ban of up to four years under FIFA guidelines.

The 24-year-old Ukraine international has been provisionally suspended since December after an “adverse finding in a routine urine test,” and he has not appeared in a match day squad since December 1st.

The FA confirmed the charge, alleging the “presence and/or use of a prohibited substance,” though they declined further comment due to the ongoing nature of the case.

While Chelsea has not commented on the new charge, they previously stated they would investigate the cause of the failed test, supporting Mudryk’s categorical claim that he “never knowingly used any banned substances.”

Manager Enzo Maresca had also publicly backed the player. The charge indicates that the analysis of Mudryk’s B Sample confirmed the adverse finding, and he must now choose between accepting the consequences or requesting a formal hearing.
