Mohamed Salah Claims He’s Being “Thrown Under the Bus” as Relationship with Arne Slot Breaks Down

Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has publicly expressed feeling “thrown under the bus” by the club and revealed that his relationship with head coach Arne Slot has deteriorated, suggesting “someone doesn’t want me in the club.”1

The extraordinary comments came after the Egypt forward was left on the bench for the third consecutive game during Saturday’s 3-3 draw at Leeds United.

“I said many times before that I had a good relationship with the manager, and all of a sudden we don’t have any relationship. I don’t know why…”

“It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus. That is how I am feeling. I think it is very clear that someone wanted me to get all of the blame.”

“I don’t have to go every day fighting for my position because I earned it. I am not bigger than anyone but I earned my position.”

Salah, who signed a two-year contract extension in April, admitted he is now unsure about his Liverpool future.

The 33-year-old, who has scored 250 goals for Liverpool, struggled for form this season (four goals in 13 top-flight appearances) after a stellar 2024-25 campaign where the Reds won the Premier League.

This uncertainty has fueled speculation that the Saudi Pro League, particularly Al-Hilal, remains interested in signing the highly recognizable Middle Eastern star.
