Fabio Paratici Resigns as Tottenham Director After Worldwide Ban

Fabio Paratici officially resigned from his position as Tottenham Hotspur’s Managing Director of Football on Friday, April 21, 2023, with immediate effect.
The decision followed the rejection of Paratici’s appeal against a 30-month ban from Italian football, which FIFA had subsequently extended “to have worldwide effect.” He received the ban in January 2023 due to his role in the false accounting scandal at his former club, Juventus, where he served as Sporting Director and Managing Director before joining Spurs in June 2021.
Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy commented on the “stressful time for Fabio and his family” and wished him well, noting the club’s ongoing efforts to restructure its football operations.
The resignation came shortly after Tottenham had announced a new figure to oversee the club’s football operations. Tottenham appointed Scott Munn as Chief Football Officer (CFO) in April 2023 (officially starting later that year). The role was newly created and saw Munn join the club’s board, taking charge of all footballing departments.
Munn’s appointment, part of a long-term review of the club’s structure, was designed to strengthen the organization at the leadership level following the departure of Paratici and the earlier dismissal of manager Antonio Conte in late March 2023.
