Wiyaala Panelist at Cambridge University to Discuss African Storytelling

Ghanaian Afro-pop star Wiyaala has been selected to serve as a panelist at Cambridge University in the UK, where she will take part in a discussion on African music and film on Saturday, June 1, 2019.
The panel will explore the theme “Music, Film, Arts and Culture: Retelling African Stories” as part of the university’s sixth annual Africa Together Conference.
Wiyaala will appear alongside other notable speakers, including BBC’s Peter Ogbu Okwoche and author Yaba Badoe.
Known for performing in Sissala, Waale, and English, Wiyaala launched her solo career in 2013 with the hit “Rock My Body,” which earned her two awards at the inaugural 2014 All Africa Music Awards—Most Promising Artiste in Africa and Revelation of the African Continent.
She is also an advocate for social causes, working with UNICEF Ghana and the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection on issues such as child marriage, poverty, health, and sanitation.
In 2017, she headlined the 15th London African Music Festival.
