Fallout: Shatta Wale Denies Bullgod Was Ever His Manager

The long-standing professional and personal relationship between Dancehall artist Shatta Wale and music executive Bullgod (Lawrence Nana Asiama Hanson) has once again deteriorated into a public feud, culminating in Shatta Wale denying Bullgod’s managerial role.

The latest clash was ignited after Bullgod publicly criticized Shatta Wale for allegedly being ungrateful and failing to achieve international success due to his attitude.

On October 13, 2022, Bullgod posted a “friendly” piece of advice to Shatta Wale on Facebook after a video surfaced of Nigerian artist Burna Boy with DJ Khaled:

“Shatta Wale, all your money cannot buy this. I know your time will come, but until then, honour those who honour you. It brings more blessings and supernatural growth. Stop being bitter… be happy for everyone,” he wrote.

Shatta Wale responded weeks later on October 31, 2022, taking to Facebook to severely downgrade Bullgod’s influence and role in his career:

“I was my own manager and CEO of Shatta Movement till today. Stop lying to people that you managed me. I employed you and paid you #differentartiste.”

Shatta Wale accused Bullgod of taking undue credit for the success and hard work he personally invested in building the Shatta Movement, lamenting the negative attitude toward success among some individuals in the industry.
