Reggie Rockstone Slams Serwaa Amihere for “Insensitive” Akuapem Poloo Comments

Hiplife legend Reggie Rockstone publicly criticized GHOne presenter Serwaa Amihere for comments she made regarding the court’s decision to jail actress Akuapem Poloo.
Serwaa Amihere had taken to social media to weigh in on the situation, pointing out that Akuapem Poloo’s conviction was based on her own guilty plea. She suggested that by pleading guilty, Poloo had admitted to the wrongdoing and should therefore be ready to face the consequences, making calls for her release illogical:
“A person is convicted on her OWN PLEA. this means that the person accepts that he or she is wrong. The natural consequence of pleading guilty on your own volition means that you are ready to be punished. How are we asking for this person to be freed,” Serwaa wrote on Twitter.
In a sharp rebuttal, Reggie Rockstone described Serwaa Amihere’s remarks as insensitive. He suggested that her perspective lacked empathy, particularly for the plight of Poloo’s young son, asking her directly if she had a child.
Reggie emphasized that the widespread calls for leniency and Poloo’s release were driven by shared human compassion:
“WE ASK COS WE ARE HUMAN AND ALL BLEED RED AND FEEL FOR THIS PERSONS PLIGHT IS WHY IT IS OK TO ASK AND MORE SO ABOUT HER SON! DO YOU HAVE A CHILD? #empathy #weslip #thekid #empathy #jesuswould” Reggie replied.
The public exchange highlighted the tension between strict legal interpretation (as emphasized by Serwaa Amihere, who was recently called to the Bar) and calls for compassion (as championed by Reggie Rockstone and many fans).
