Techiman North Assembly Selects Tuobodom Site for 24-Hour Economy Model Market Project

The Techiman North District Assembly has advanced its preparations for the national 24-Hour Economy Model Market project, an initiative championed by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.
On Monday, August 25, 2025, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Adom Kwabena Johnson, convened the Assembly’s Technical Committee to review site proposals. Following extensive analysis, the Committee unanimously selected a location in Tuobodom as the most suitable site for the new Model Market.
DCE Johnson highlighted that the market is a crucial part of the 24-Hour Economy policy, designed to boost local commerce, create employment, and provide a modern, secure space for round-the-clock business operations. The project will be funded by the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) and executed by all MMDAs.
Hon. Johnson called the site selection a “major milestone” and affirmed the Assembly’s commitment to collaboration for efficient project delivery. The next steps involve developing detailed architectural designs and engaging in broader stakeholder consultations with the Tuobodom community.
