Mount Olives Hospital Opens State-of-the-Art 800-Cabin Mortuary in Techiman

Mount Olives Hospital in Techiman, the capital of the Bono East Region, has officially opened a new, modern 800-cabin mortuary facility to serve the hospital and other health institutions in the region and beyond.

Dr. Gladstone Kessie, CEO of the hospital, announced that the facility is equipped with executive, VIP, and VVIP cabins and utilizes latest technology for body preservation, embalming, beautification, and transportation (both local and international). He emphasized that the mortuary will significantly relieve the pressure on the Bono East Region’s limited funeral facilities.

Dr. Kessie also revealed ambitious expansion plans, which include adding a chapel, restaurant, private cemetery, recreational center, and accommodation, aiming to develop the area into a potential tourist destination.

Mr. Prosper Swanzey, General Manager of the mortuary, assured the public that the facility adheres to strict international health, safety, and environmental standards, boasting advanced equipment and professional morticians to provide first-class service.

Dr. Kessie, whose 70-bed hospital was established in 2012, stressed the importance of treating the deceased with dignity and urged the public to continue following COVID-19 safety protocols.
