“I Am Not Shaken”: Black Sherif Reacts to 2026 Grammy Snub and Eyeing TGMA Top Prize

Ghanaian superstar Black Sherif has broken his silence following the announcement of the 68th Annual Grammy Awards (2026) nominations, where he failed to secure a nod despite submitting his work.
Speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz on November 10, 2025, the artist revealed that his team filed for two categories: Best African Music Performance and Best Global Music Album. While he admitted he would have been happy to be recognized, he emphasized that the exclusion has not dampened his spirit, stating, “I am not shaken, I am not touched.”
Black Sherif’s perspective on the “snub” was reflective, noting that the Ghanaian music industry might need more “education” on the intricacies of the Grammy voting and submission process.
However, his focus remains sharp on the local front, where he expressed absolute confidence in winning Artiste of the Year at the upcoming 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA). He described the potential win as a “validation” for his fans who have supported him throughout his record-breaking year.
Despite the lack of a Grammy nod, Black Sherif’s sophomore album, Iron Boy (released April 3, 2025), has dominated the charts and established him as Ghana’s most-exported musical act of the year.
