Grammy-winning Nigerian sensation Tems has opened up about her non-negotiables when it comes to dating, identifying a lack of curiosity and a lack of friendship as her primary “red flags.”
In a recent interview with the American media outlet Complex, the “Love Me Jeje” singer explained that a genuine interest in one’s partner is the foundation of any meaningful connection.
She emphasized that if a partner isn’t actively trying to be your friend or doesn’t show a desire to truly know you, the relationship lacks purpose.
“My dating terms are that someone who is not trying to be your friend is a red flag. Anybody who isn’t curious about you is also a red flag. Because what are we doing? Why are we here if you don’t want to know me? If he or she doesn’t want to know more about you, end the relationship,” she stated.
Despite describing herself as a “lover girl” at heart, Tems admitted she is being more cautious due to past experiences. Currently, the singer-songwriter is prioritizing self-love and her career over the search for a partner.
