Kwadaso Creative Arts School Faces Delays Despite Optimistic 2022 Opening Date

Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, announced in an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo (in 2021) that Ghana’s first Creative Arts School would be completed and officially opened by 2022.
The Minister had stated that construction in Kwadaso, Ashanti Region, would commence between January and February 2022, with the goal of equipping Ghanaian children with creative skills.
He emphasized the school’s commitment to a broad curriculum by including 12 science laboratories alongside arts-related disciplines like music, acting, and instrument playing.
The Kwadaso Creative Arts School is designed to include a 1,300-capacity auditorium/theatre, a 4-storey creative arts block, dormitories for 750 girls and 500 boys, and the promised 12 science laboratories, positioning it as a major hub for developing creative talent across Africa.
