Félix Afena-Gyan Bids Farewell to AS Roma Ahead of Cremonese Move

Black Stars forward Félix Afena-Gyan has penned an emotional goodbye to AS Roma as he nears a permanent transfer to the newly promoted Serie A side, Cremonese.
The 19-year-old Ghanaian, who originally joined the Italian giants in March 2021, is set to complete a move for an estimated transfer fee of €6 million, potentially rising by an additional €3 million in add-ons.
Despite having only recently signed a long-term contract extension that would have kept him at Roma until 2026, his departure comes as a surprise. During the previous season, Afena-Gyan made 17 Serie A appearances for Roma, scoring two goals.
In his social media farewell, the young player expressed his deep gratitude to the club, his teammates, and particularly acknowledged manager José Mourinho for his profound impact.
“I’m grateful to AS Roma, the technical team and staff for the precious opportunity and support I have enjoyed in the last one and half years,” read part of his statement. “My utmost love to the manager Jose Mourinho. The last seven months with you has totally changed my life. Thank you for believing in me.”
