First Lady Lordina Mahama Supports Orphanages with Major Christmas Donations

Ghana’s First Lady, Lordina Mahama, has continued her decades-long humanitarian commitment by providing substantial festive donations to six orphanages across the country through the Lordina Foundation.

The charitable initiative benefited institutions including the Osu Children’s Home and Christ Faith Foster Home in Greater Accra, the Bethesda and FrankMay Homes in Bono East, and the Anfaani and Tamale Children’s Homes in the Northern Region.

This annual tradition, which the First Lady established over twenty years ago, reflects her foundation’s ongoing mission to provide consistent support and inclusion for the nation’s most vulnerable children and the elderly residents of the Gambaga camp.

The comprehensive holiday package delivered this year consisted of essential food and sanitary supplies, ranging from bags of rice, cooking oil, and milk powder to hygiene products like sanitary pads and diapers.

Beyond the physical donations, the foundation collaborated with the “La Bonne Femme” group to organize a festive party for the children at the Osu Children’s Home, featuring catered meals and recreational activities such as a bouncing castle and dance competitions.

High-ranking officials, including the foundation’s board members and Deputy Chief of Staff Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, attended the events to represent the First Lady and share her message of hope and encouragement with the children.

Speaking on behalf of Mrs. Mahama, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo emphasized that the First Lady remains dedicated to ensuring no child feels abandoned during the holiday season. The board chairman echoed these sentiments, noting that the First Lady’s primary desire is to see the children happy and well-cared for as they enter the new year.

By maintaining these long-term partnerships with adopted homes across three regions, the Lordina Foundation continues to serve as a vital support system for marginalized women and children throughout Ghana.
