Techiman Youth Attack Buses from Nkoranza, Injuring Several in Alleged Retaliation Over Convoy Incident

Tensions erupted between the youth of Techiman and Nkoranza in the Bono Region on Monday evening, resulting in an attack on buses traveling from Nkoranza to Kumasi and leaving several people injured, including a child.
The buses, which were reportedly returning after escorting the Asantehene to a funeral in Nkoranza, are believed to have been targeted in retaliation for an earlier incident. Eyewitnesses claim that a convoy had blocked the highway at Amamfom and chanted provocative slogans, such as “There is no man in Techiman,” which angered local youth.
The enraged Techiman youth, who had previously issued threats, attacked the returning buses. While the exact severity is unclear, no fatalities were reported, but multiple individuals were hurt.
Authorities are expected to intervene to prevent further violence, and investigations are underway to determine the circumstances of the initial altercation and identify the perpetrators of the bus attacks. The police have not yet released an official statement on the incident.
